Reasons Your Roof May Need to be Replaced

If the damage or general wear and tear is extensive, a replacement is often the safest choice. A visibly sagging roof is a good indicator your roof needs replacing. Other reasons include widespread water damage, corrosion, and loose flashing.

If you suspect any of these are happening on your roof, call our team for a professional inspection. We’re qualified plumbers with over 30 years of experience in the industry. We’ll be able to take a look at your roof and recommend the best course of action to protect your home.

Why Choose Metal Roofing?

Metal roofing is an investment in your home. It lasts decades and comes with long warranty periods.

  • Insulation- If your home isn’t keeping cool in summer and warm in winter, it may be due to the roof. Metal roofs are easily insulated, so you can feel comfortable all year round.
  • Durable- Metal roofs have anti-corrosion properties, meaning they’re resilient against the elements.
  • Sustainable- Due to their insulation abilities, metal roofs mean you don’t need to use your air conditioner or heater as often, saving you money on energy bills.
  • Low maintenance- Metal roofing doesn’t chip like tiles, and the colour remains vibrant for years. When it gets dusty or dirty, all you need to do id a simple hose down.
  • Warranty- Metal roofs come with long warranty periods so you can rest assured any minor repairs over the years are easily taken care of.

The Process of Metal Roof Replacement

  • Quote and Approval

Once you’ve booked in your quote, the roofer will arrive at the agreed time and get to work inspecting your roof. This includes measuring and advising you of the available options, so your estimate can be as accurate as possible.

  • Old Roof Removed

After we’ve finished your quote and approved your re-roof, we complete safety procedures and then get to work. We install a safety railing and then remove old sheeting and guttering in sections before stripping the roof. Depending on the material of your old roof, this can be done in one day or can take up to two days.

  • New Roof Installed

We start by laying insulation paper and check roof battens, re-battening where necessary. The next step is installing new or additional insulation, and then installing new roofing sheets. If this will take longer than a day, we will ensure the roof is left watertight overnight. While the gutters are off we paint the fascia boards if needed. We then lay and secure the roof sheet.

  • Gutters, Capping and Finishing

We lay and secure the gutters, capping, and flashings. Once complete we carry out a final inspection and issue a certification. Your new roof is now ready to use for decades to come!
